Geneology sessions for four months, April-July which was sponsored by the Na Kiwila O Hawaii Grant (Hawaii Maoli). Tour of Kane-I Olo-uma Heiau at Poipu attended by 22 members/guests. Randy Wichman noted historian and member of QDKHCC was the tour guide, assisted by Rupert Rowe and Kane Tiralde, cultural practitioners.
Another exciting event was the tour of National Tropical Botanical Allerton Gardens. Visited the site of Queen Emma’s summer home. The guided tour of NTBG featured many plants and the landscape was expansive showing spectacular views of a lush ahupua‘a where native Hawaiians once lived.
QDKHCC also participated in the Prince Kuhio Annual Birthday Celebration in March, and the Kamehameha Parade in June.
