KHCC won AHA MELE 2011 at TBR w/ Beth Kammerer, 10 Delegates at Con Con & Vendor Booth. Nov. in WESPAC puwalu. Christmas Pa'ina Kualoa Ranch-Moli'i Garden on Dec.15th & loss of David Haili Keawe. Attended all O'ahu Council Board & GM & AOHHC Mtgs. Ho'olako Na Kiwila Hawai'i Grant in hula implements kicks off for 5 months, completing kala'au, kukui nut lei’s, ipu’s, 'uli'uli workshops. March participated in the Prince Kuhio Parade with our Kane muscians & Troy Thompson driving Papa’s truck in his memory. Also food vendor/laulau mini for Scholarships/Kukui demo booth w/Cathy & ‘ohana & Uncle Bill & Auntie Phyliss Kuamo'o with Pillow etc.all sizes!!! President chaired PK Committee for all vendors & artisans @ Kapi'olani Park. Maunawila heiau workshops kicks off in April after $650,000 from C&C Clean Water funding & $650,000 from DLNR’s Legacy Funding was aproved to Hawaiian Land Trust for our community with KHCC being curator’s in partnership with the Hau'ula community Assn. May is Esther Kia'aina month as KHCC has her as guest speaker same night as KHS graduation. June 5th 2012, President Ululani Beirne draws nominatin papers for the House , 47th District with no Democrat in the race. King Kamehameha Celebration on June 9th, 2012 again KHCC presents a beautiful float commemorating our 88th anniversary and a food vendor booth mini laulau plate/stew& rice and teriburgers. KHCC loss of James Woolsey, owner of Woolsey/Hosoi Mortuary & long time member and also Jim Thompson, retired fireman from San Francisco,husband of Ipolani Thompson, KHCC lively musician is deeply felt by all our members. KHCC takes their turn at Mauna 'Ala on March 3rd, and July 7th and also participate @ Ali'i Sundays for King Charles Lunalilo and Queen Ka’ahumanu Birthdays. July 26th to 31st KHCC participated in the making boat leis for the yacht races arriving form San Francisco, at Kane'ohe Bay Yacht Harbor with Rebekah Luke and Pete Krape. KHCC continues to plan for four more fundraisers for Convention on August 19th 2012 with Ki-ho’alu Concert @ Kapi'olani Park w/laulau mini plate/lu'au stew bowl, August 25th,2012 in Hau'ula @ Kokololio Park for the Ko'olauloa Health & Wellness Fair w/BBQ Chicken plate, Sept, 2nd 2012 @ 'Iolani Palace for 'Onipa'a Celebration w/laulau mini/lu'au stew bowl and Sept. 12th, 2012 with DOE’s Kahua Program in Kahana for the new teachers Orientation Cultural Day. August 16th, 2012 President Ululani was a guest with O’ahu Council in support of the Hawai'i Maoli fundraiser at Sheraton Waikiki Hotels to honor Senator Inouye and also Charles Rose and Henry Gomes. Also in August is the 'AHA Wahine with Pres. Ululani, Sista, Tessie, Jo, Sherri, Tina and Kahiau participating. KHCC will send at least 9 Delegates to Washington D. C. and look forward to participating in the elections for AOHCC officers for the next two years. Members also attended ANA workshops and did a field trip to Kahuku’s military base & all iwi related & historic preservation activities & all fishing meetings on monk seals & green sea turtles.
