Princess Ka'iulani Hawaiian Civic Club 2012
by Gladys Rodenhurst
The Princess Ka'iulani Hawaiian Civic Club strives to perpetuate Hawaiian culture through community service and education. Members hail from across the state of Hawai'i and the US Continent. The club has active participation in the 'Aha Moku movement, neighborhood boards and educational policy for the island of O'ahu. During 2011-2012, the club featured Aunty Gladys Rodenhurst in a workshop called Noni and Me. Aunty Gladys showed workshop participants how to prepare and process noni into a nutritious supplement. She also shared personal stories of how noni healed various ailments including shingles, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and acne. Mahalo nui to the Office of Hawaiian Affairs, Hawaii Maoli and Ike Kaaihue for the support that made the Noni and Me workshops possible.
