We started the year with the celebration of our Queen’s birthday at Mauna 'Ala, later went to the Queen’s Medical Center to drape her portrait with a lei, continued with a paina at the Queen’s summer palace. We joined with Ke Kula Kaiapuni 'O Pu'ohala in a workshop learning how to make traditional hawaiian games. For Prince Kuhio Day, we participated in the parade and did a food booth, highlighting shoyu chicken plate.
Our club does an Annual Anniversary and Scholarship Lu'au in June. This year’s scholarship recipients were Rebecca Daguro, Rochelle Arquette and Jessica Jo Ruiter. Staying in touch with the rest of you via email and quarterly council meeting. We participate in the cleaning of Mauna 'Ala. Queen Emma Hawaiian Civic Club meets on the last Tuesday of every month at 6:00pm-8:00pm at the Queen’s Medical Conference Center, we do not meet in December.
